Orchardleigh Wedding Photography - Lawrence + Sophie
Our first visit back to Orchardleigh (main house) for a couple of years for the wedding of Lawrence and Sophie on what was, one of the windiest days of the year!
We met Sophie getting ready in the bridal suite as at that time we were one of the first to arrive at the venue, even beating the groom! After some prep photos were completed, I managed to get the drone up for some aerial photos albeit at a relatively low height for safety! Once the groom and a few guests started to arrive we could once again capture those journalistic moments as the arrivals continued.
Sophie gathered her bridesmaids around to open her gift from Lawrence which made for a wonderful moment although it did require some make up re-touching after she read the card. This was followed by her father seeing her for the first time which is always a moment we like to capture.
Lisa managed to work her way down the aisle photographing the seated guests on either side before the ceremony started where I took up a position at the front. I could also monitor the video from this position as we were filming the ceremony at the same time as photography. After the ceremony we managed a quick group shot in the sunshine before taking a few guests for a confetti shot just before the heavens opened – literally!
We set up for some group shots inside due to the wind and rain and this meant that at least everyone stayed warm & dry. This was followed up with most of the guys heading to the snooker room for some action shots around the snooker table at the request of Lawrence.
After the speeches, we were treated a live band for the first dance which packed the dance floor but then came the surprise, a silent firework display set to music. The guests were invited outside (fortunately the wind had calmed down and it wasn’t raining) for the 7 minute magical low noise display which concluded our time at their wedding.
