The Bristol Golf Club Wedding Photography - Max + Steph

A fantastic day for Max & Steph’s which wedding started with a visit to a couple houses for the preparation photos - always a good way to meet the bridesmaids, groomsmen and parents before seeing them at the venue!  On arrival at The Bristol, the spacious, well lit room was prepared ready for the ceremony. Outside, the large patio area was sectioned off ready for the wedding and also provided easy access to the greens and grounds with an amazing view down the valley to the River Severn and beyond.

The very impressive cake was made by Briony, Max’s sister in law, who appeared in series 9 of the Great British Bake Off. I didn’t get to try any but it certainly looked fantastic!

Max and the groomsmen arrived in good time to greet the guests (always good for photos!) and waited for the arrival of Steph and the bridesmaids. A very smart white Mercedes indicated Steph had arrived and after a short chat with the registrars the wedding ceremony got underway.  Confetti was between a couple of lines of the guests on the patio and followed by some group photos. On this occasion, I used the drone to get everyone in. This is a superb way of capturing a larger group of guests when you dont have a suitable building vantage point to hand. The other benefit is that most people look at the drone and it’s often a talking point afterwards!

The speeches took place after the wedding breakfast and the best man (Max’s brother) had a very novel way of distributing some pictures of the groom. This is usually envelopes taped underneath the chairs or tables but on this occasion, the groomsmen handed out small cards with a QR code on. The link took the guests to several pictures of Max - but what a modern way of doing it!

Evening entertainment was provided by the excellent Dr Fraggle Band who set up outside on the patio for the evening.  There choice of music was clearly popular with the guests who utilised the free space on the patio for dancing. Fortunately I was there late enough to see Max, Steph and family take to the mic to sing to their guests which was followed up by the arrival of the evening buffet. I can say with personal experience that the freshly made pizza was superb!
