Old Down Manor Wedding Photography - James + Christine

Old Down Manor is a picturesque historic estate located in Tockington, South Gloucestershire. This magnificent manor and former home of Mike Oldfield offers a blend of timeless elegance and natural beauty, making it a popular venue for weddings.

Old Down Manor is renowned for its beautifully landscaped gardens and grounds. The manicured lawns, vibrant flowerbeds, and scenic views of the rolling countryside make it an ideal setting for outdoor wedding receptions.

The Severn Bridge can be seen in the distance across the grounds in fine weather which always good to try to get into the background of photos!

James & Christine had selected the main entrance for their weddings and the main staircase was being adorned with flowers when we arrived. It is a stunning, bright, well lit room, perfect for a wedding ceremony and gives the seated guests a glimpse of the bride as she walks down the stairs.

After the usual venue photos and some aerial pictures and video from the drone, we set about capturing some of the guests arriving together with James & Christine who were getting ready onsite. The couple had both written each other a letter which was a great moment to capture with photos and video at the same time.

The ceremony and confetti followed and it was time for the outdoor group photos, making the most of the sunshine! We took the couple down to the lake for some photos before heading back up ready for the speeches and the wedding breakfast. They had opted for a receiving line which captured some great moments and means were also get a photo of every guest - almost!

The speeches were very funny and followed by the wedding breakfast which gave us a chance to swap batteries and prepare the kit for the evening. After the meal, we took the couple out for some more photos as the sun began to set with the Severn Bridge in the background. The evening started off with a cake cut and then some ballroom dancing/first dance with the couple and their respective parents. After an indoor bouquet throw, it was time for the evening disco courtesy of HotShotsEntertainment and we finally packed up as the evening buffet was being served.
