Quantock Lakes Wedding Photography - Kris + Amy
Once again its been a couple of years since we visited Quantock Lakes but what a transformation! Stunning venue with plenty of space and some beautiful outside places for photos! Our visit this time was capture the wedding of Kris and Amy on probably, the coldest and windiest day of the year! Sadly, the planned group shot with the drone couldn’t take place as it was just too windy. However, it was easy to photograph the prep in the new bridal area which has a covered direct link to the venue as well as plenty of space for several bridesmaids to get ready with hair and makeup all being done at the same time.
Kris arrived with the best men in plenty of time but due to the weather, they were confined to the inside only. This gave us time to photograph the guests as they arrived as well as the dining room which was all set up and ready to go.
The ceremony went well with Kris getting very overwhelmed at the sight of Amy in her wedding dress as she walked down the aisle with her father, a great moment to capture! The guests then made their way straight outside for the confetti photos and lined the path down to the lake pontoon! Did I mention how cold it was! The couple made their way through the waiting guests, some of which ran back inside after the confetti had been thrown, it was literally freezing! We managed a few shots of the couple on the pontoon before they headed back inside where se wet up for some group photos.
The highlight of the meal was the appointed person on each table who was given a chef’s hat to carve the turkey which made for some great photos!
After the speeches, the couple braved the outside elements for some photos on the pontoon before heading back in for the first dance and evening party
