Moonraker Hotel Wedding Photography - Will + Lucy
This was our first visit to the Moonraker hotel other than a quick visit with the couple a couple of months before. It was a beautiful sunny day and with almost no guests around on our arrival, I decided to get the drone up for some aerial photos whilst I had a few minutes.
We went and said our hello’s to Lucy getting ready in her room and took some informal photos with her, her mum and the bridesmaid Tilly as the hair and makeup was being finished off. I then went for a quick wander outside into the fields to scout a possible location for the evening photos. I’d already knew the sunset time and position so I knew where I wanted the couple to be later on but had to find a suitable place.
Will and the boys arrived and gave me an opportunity for more informal photos making full use of the compete silence of the Sony A9. Lucy’s mum needed a little bit of help attaching the last bit of the dress so I managed to lend a hand to sort that before Lisa and I moved to the dining room to photograph the tables which were in the process of being prepared by the florist Amanda Smith.
The ceremony went well and was followed by a confetti shot and the drinks reception before we sought some shade at the front for of the Hotel the group photos. It was an extremely hot day and the guests welcomed a bit of respite from the blazing sun! We managed some couple photos before the wedding breakfast but saved a couple of locations until the sun was a little lower.
After speeches, the guests spilled out onto the lawn which meant a few more photo opportunities for us which was then followed up by the remaining group photos. We managed to grab the couple for some more photos in the grounds before they mingled with the evening guests and went inside for the cake cut (a lovely macaron cake by Bluebird Bakery) and first dance with the music provided by the DJ Kenny at Young Ones Disco Promotions who was followed by singer Samantha Benger-Nolan who really got the party going.
