Calne Wedding Photography – Sam + Charlie
We first met Sam when he appeared as a guest at Josh & Jades wedding in August 2019. His mum who was also a guest asked if I could take some photos of him and fiancé, Charli, when she arrived later that evening. We took the photos and they subsequently booked us for a festival style wedding in 2020. Due to covid, that was moved, then delayed and eventually scrapped as the dates continually kept getting put back. A date was finally fixed for May 2021 with a scaled down version of the original plans but included the most important family members and close friends.
I arrived at Charli’s house in Calne in plenty of time and the bunting outside made it clear which house was theirs! It was the usual frenzy of activity with bridesmaids and a bride getting ready with hair, makeup and some present opening by Charli. The couple had eloped in August 2020 and got married in Devon so although this was a blessing day, speaking to her it it felt more like the original day they had planned.
St Peters Church in Calne is a small ancient parish Church but plenty big enough for the 30 invited guests. No singing of course but after the ceremony, it was outside and into the sunshine for the traditional confetti throw before moving to the bridal party photos.
Charli had planned for her and the bridesmaids to bring wellies for a photo in the muddy puddles nearby which went ahead with me taking photos from a safe distance beyond the splashing. After some couple photos in some local woodland it was off to the wedding reception at The Dumb Post Inn at Bremhill. The covered outside area provided an ideal area for the wedding/blessing meal and the field adjoining the pub was put to good use for the couple, family and group photos.
The weather held out and made for an enjoyable, memorable day. I concluded after the speeches had taken place and managed to get a few photos of the bridesmaids opening their gifts of gnomes before departing! After all, who doesn’t love a Gnome as a wedding gift 😉
