Aldwick Estate Wedding Photography - Tom + Sam

Tom approached us as be had been recommended by a work colleague. After a quick chat we arranged a meeting over a coffee and the booking followed shortly after. Their wedding had a big military theme which meant some excellent photo opportunities for us to photograph and film throughout the day.

Sam was getting ready at a property a couple of miles away from Aldwick. Her parents were there so we had to ensure her Dad didn’t see her until she was completely ready; not too easy when you’re all in a bungalow!

We headed off to Blagdon Church for the ceremony and wandered down to the Pub for the grooms party who were enjoying a ‘light refreshment’ before the wedding. They were all very smarty dressed in kilts in a nod to Toms Scottish heritage.  More friends and family arrived with a large majority in uniform representing the 3 branches of the armed forces.

At the Church, a pair of bagpipers played as guests made their way into the Church whilst Tom and his best man greeted the guests.  Sam arrived and the ceremony was underway.  The confetti consisted of a line of guests outside the Church after a military guard of honour with raised swords. The couple stopped underneath for a quick kiss before strolling along the confetti lined road.  As the guests headed off, a few close family stayed behind for some photos before the couple left.

We headed to Aldwick Estate and awaited the couples arrival.  With most guests outside, it was a great moment as they walked along the driveway towards their waiting friends and family. After a lovely meet and greet session, we worked our way through the photo lists and even flew the drone for an aerial group photo which Sam had specifically requested. The beer pong game proved a hit as the day went on and made for some great photos!

The wedding breakfast was followed by the speeches and a very funny slideshow arranged by the best men before the guests headed back outside to enjoy the afternoon sun.  We took the couple on a ‘photo walk’ before the wedding breakfast but as the sun was lower, we used the opportunity for some more pictures round the vineyard.

The evening party went very well with almost everyone on the dance floor enjoying themselves to the ceilidh band who travelled down from Scotland especially for the evening.
