Marlborough Wedding Photography - Alex + Celia
We were at a wedding 12 months ago when we were approached by Celia’s parents regarding photographing her wedding to Alex in September 2023. The rest is history and here we are!
The couple were getting ready at Celia’s parents home near Marlborough and fortunately, the Church was in walking distance! In addition, a marquee had been erected in the extensive grounds so the whole wedding party could walk back from the Church ready for the afternoon reception.
Whilst Celia was getting ready, Alex and family were at the nearby pub so it was an easy walk to capture them all enjoying probably hottest day we’ve ever had for a wedding!
With Celia ready, it was time for a traditional formal photograph which was similar to that of her sister and her mother when they were married, sitting on a very specific chair that had been handed down. The wedding party then walked to the Church which was packed with guests waiting for the ceremony to start. The ceremony was finished off with some formal photos and confetti before the entire congregation walked back to the house for the afternoon reception, which took place in the grounds but fortunately had plenty of shade! The sailing boat in which Alex proposed to Celia was also brought the house as a surprise for the couple which made for a good photo opportunity.
We were also priveliged to watch a Tea Ceremony taking place between members of Alex and Celia’s families’ which involved the pouring and drinking of tea, cups passing from one family to another.
The couple photos were taken within the gardens before heading into the marquee for the speeches - which were excellent! The evening was finished off with a live band and plenty of dancing under the fantastic black starlit marquee roof.
