Clearwell Castle wedding photography - Mark + Rachel
Well, its certainly been a while since we visited Clearwell Castle but its definitely worth the wait! It’s an absolutely stunning location with some wonderful well manicured grounds for couple photos. We arrived in plenty of time as this was a photo and video wedding for us and we need the extra time to set up the cameras as well as working out their placement.
Rachel was getting ready in the first floor bridal suite which is an ample sized room for getting ready complete with 4 poster bed. The dress was hung at the end of the bed but can be relocated to the dress hook near the window (if you’re tall enough!). The large dual aspect windows offer plenty of natural light which is great for us and means no other lighting was needed on this bright, sunny and warm day.
Mark and the best man were fully dressed and ready a couple of hours before the ceremony but it did mean they could greet the arriving guests.
The ceremony took place in the Ballroom with guests seated either side of the 75ft aisle. The highlight of the ceremony was that the rings were delivered to the best man by an owl! Fortunately Mark has told me about the surprise before the day so I was prepared - the owl flight was extremely quick!
The ceremony was followed by confetti with the guests gathered around the steps to the front doors meaning the confetti could be dropped on the couple! There was a falconry display on the front lawn which kept the guests entertained whilst we took the couple for some photos around the gardens.
We took a short break as the guests enjoyed the wedding breakfast and we-re-joined them for the speeches before making use of the warm evening sunshine for a few more couple photos.
The evening was finished off with a first dance and we left them partying to the DJ’s music into the night.
