Devon Wedding Photography - Elliot + Grace

We were photographing a wedding in Somerset in 2022 where Grace and Elliot were guests. They approached us and asked if we were available for their Bideford (Devon) wedding in 2023 and the rest is history! We travelled down the night before the wedding to avoid the risk of traffic on the M5 on the Saturday morning and headed over to see Elliot and family first thing. They were staying a short distance away although navigating the single track roads with a strip of grass up the middle was challenging especially with the number of tractors around! After the usual prep photos and some aerial photos from the drone, we left to visit the bride.

Grace was getting ready at her parents house and the marquee was situated within the grounds of their property. This gave us the opportunity to photograph all the details as the tables were set up for the wedding breakfast. We also managed the getting ready photos and some of the guests arriving as they were being bussed from the house to the Church due to restricted parking. It was also another opportunity to fly the drone for some aerial photos of the home and marquee.

Arriving at the Church in plenty of time gave us another opportunity to capture some of the Church details and the first guests arrivals with Elliot and the best man greeting the guests.

Grace arrived and the ceremony took place and was followed with a few bridal party photos outside as the main guests headed back to the marquee. The couple arrived back at the marquee and were delivered on a tractor to the line of guests waiting with confetti. After a series of confetti photos and a receiving line, the guests headed to their tables for the wedding breakfast. We were offered some of Grace’s homemade pavlova which was fabulous - especially as she told us she had made it earlier that morning!

After the speeches, the band set up and after a quick cake cut, the first dance took place. We took the couple off for some evening photos before heading the the local viewpoint for a photo with the setting sun.

It’s always lovely to experience a wedding with a really personal touch such as a marquee within the grounds of a family home as it makes the day really special for the couple.
