Grittleton House Wedding Photography - Adam + Rachel

Grittleon House is always a favourite of ours. The magnificent former school has everything needed for a wedding with bags of space inside and out, ideal for the larger wedding.

Adam and Rachael were getting ready at home so it was great fun photographing amongst their children, family and bridesmaids. To say their house was bursting was an understatement!

We headed to Grittleton with time to spare and get set up. The magnificent tree lined driveway slowly reveals the full house as you approach. It makes a great photo (or a drone flight along the driveway ;).  We positioned ourselves to grab some photos of the arriving guests who all enter through the main entrance.  The couple had a Toastmaster who started to do an excellent job of directing the guests,

The ceremony was taking place in the Orangery was beautifully setup.  Adam and the best man soon arrived and greeted the guests who were exploring the venue. After that it was time for a short drone flight to capture some of the building from above which really shows the scale of the property.

With Rachael’s arrival the ceremony could begin; it was a beautiful summers day for a wedding. We finished up with some family photos as they signed the register before moving to the Terrace for the confetti. Once this was complete, it was a group photo with the drone (the kids loved it!) then some informal photos.  It’s such a big place that we needed a runner to round up a few guests for the formals but we got there! Big thanks to Toastmaster Jim for hellping with that as well!

After a ‘photo walk’ around the grounds it was time for the speeches. This involved a large TV being put to good use with a series of video clips made by Adam’s work colleagues (most of whom were present). The videos were absolutely brilliant (although trying to film in a blacked out room was interesting, photos were fine). Another great moment with a synchronised champagne pop although some tables were more synchronised than others 🙂

The guests adjourned to the Terrace after the meal which was a great opportunity for more natural photos of the arriving evening guests. We took the couple and their children for some more photos before bringing them back ready for the first dance and evening party.  It did mean staying for the evening food – which was lovely and plentiful!
