Thornbury Golf Centre Wedding Photography - Jack + Lucy

When we first spoke to Jack & Lucy, we were excited by the horse drawn carriage, church ceremony and the reception at Thornbury Golf Centre.  There was going to be a lot going on!

On the wedding morning, Lucy was getting ready at the Lodge in the grounds of the Golf Club so after a quick hello, I left Lisa to cover the prep photos whilst I headed off the the Pub where Jack was spending some time with his family before the wedding.

The Pub car park was packed as there was big charity fundraising event going on outside to after finding somewhere to park, I had a bit of a walk! The boys were all very relaxed which made for some great moments.  Back to the Lodge for Lucy’s dad to see her in the dress for the first time and some photos of the dining room set up for the wedding breakfast.  We headed off to the Church and a chat with the Vicar to establish the ‘rules’ for photos and video..

We always like to arrive early at the ceremony venue so we can get some photos and get the cameras set up, as well as get a parking space! The Vicar was very accommodating so I set up the cameras for filming just as Jack arrived.  I covered the outside photos whist Lisa worked her way through the guests inside the Church.

Lucy arrived in an open horse drawn carriage accompanied by her Dad which made for some lovely photos before the bridal party assembled outside to enter the church. There’s always that moment when I open the Church door and all the guests look round to see its me and not the bride as I sneak in to get ready for her entrance!

After the ceremony and confetti at the front of the Church, we took the couple around the side for some photos. Just as we started, a gust of wind caught Lucy’s veil and off it went skyward! I managed to grab it much to the relief of the guests and we continued with the family photos.

The couple headed back to the Golf Centre in the horse drawn carriage whilst the guests waited outside. After another round of hugs and kisses and some natural, informal photos, we started the short family and group photo list. The speeches followed the wedding breakfast then most of the guests adjourned to the outside due to the warmth inside.  A great opportunity for some drone photos although it was windy it was still safe to fly.  We were then approached by a few couples and families who wanted some group photos which we happily provided.

The evening party went down well and was mixed with some evening guest and family photos on the balcony next to the dance floor before we left the couple to party the night away.
