The Hotel du Vin in Bristol is venue we’ve been to a few times before. That doesn’t stop us getting completely lost trying to find the rooms through the winding corridors that all look the same. It’s quite quirky which is part of its charm!
It was a bright, cool November day for Frazer & Natalies wedding with the couple both getting ready at the venue, but in different rooms. They were also quite far apart and on a different floor so it was as much a memory test as well as a fitness test flitting between the two!
The building is spread over several floors with the main ceremony room on the top floor for their wedding. Fortunately it’s quite a bright room with some large windows so daylight is not a problem. For the ceremony, the room was packed. Frazer was accompanied by his two sons and the three of them looked very smart in black ties.
The personal vows were beautiful and caused a few tears in the room which is something that is well worth photographing. We adjourned to the courtyard after the ceremony for a natural confetti throw then the usual informal/formal photos. As the weather had improved, we suggested a walk to the Christmas Steps which was really worthwhile.
It was fairly quiet but a great opportunity for some natural photos outside in a really old part of Bristol. They did get quite a few ‘Congratulations’ from passers by on the way there and back which they enjoyed.
We were kindly provided with food which we had to ourselves in the bar on the ground floor which we had to ourselves. We headed back up early for the speeches as we had been tipped off that Frazer’s sons were going to say a few words. Everything was set to video and photograph that moment.
A live band got the evening celebrations off to a really good start and that continued until we left. All in all, a really lovely family orientated wedding day.
