We often hope as photographers for a really snowy wedding. Then when we get snow, we worry about how we’re going to get there! That was just the problem for this venue as its around 45 minutes from home but in rural Gloucestershire. As we began to find out, the main roads were just about ok but the side roads were, lets just say tricky!
As we got to the entrance road to the venue, the long downhill road had been cleared which meant our car wasn’t going to be a toboggan sliding down towards the venue! Unsurprisingly, we were one of the first to arrive and although most of the guests made it, a few were late and Ben got lost!
The snow around the venue was fantastic, deep and crisp and even ;). I decided to fly the drone for some classic aerial photos which showed the extent of the snow from the air. Katy duly arrived and set about getting ready in the bridal suite and the cleared pathways around the venue meant the guests weren’t getting wet feet!
Once Ben arrived (in the nick of time), the ceremony took place and was followed up by some indoor photos to keep the guests dry. The couple were happy for some snow photos which of course led to the inevitable snow ball fight which did make for some great photos. After the wedding breakfast and speeches, we took the couple back out for some photos around the grounds which were still covered in deep snow.
The evening celebrations went well and allowed us to get some great dance moves on the dance floor!
